On 11 December 2020, the Council and the European Parliament, with the support of the European Commission, reached an agreement on the regulation for the new Erasmus + Program for the period 2021-2027. The Erasmus + program is one of the most successful initiatives of the EU. Since its inception in 1987, its scope has been significantly expanded. The program now covers all sectors of education and training, from early childhood and school education to vocational training, higher education and adult education. It also supports cooperation in the field of youth policy and encourages participation in sport.
Erasmus + will be the key to building the European Education Area by 2025. It will mobilize the education, training, youth and sport sectors for an accelerated and sustainable recovery from the crisis.
